Description

Master escape artist Steve Santini, offically named, "The World's Most Extreme Escape Artist" by the legendary Ripley's Believe it or Not! frees himself from authentic 16th century torture devices and restraints in the deep dungeon of the famous Chateau De Chillon, (Castle Chillon), in Switzerland on Feb 18th, 2010. Using only incredible pain control, contortion, and ordinary things a 16th century prisoner would have had as improvised lock picking instruments, (In one case using the handle of a wooden spoon to open the lock on his neck chains, and in another instance using part of a lock he had opened as a pick to free his leg chains), Santini escapes from the 11th century dungeon that had never in it's history lost a single prisoner. The comments from the director of the castle at the end of the footage effecitvely summed up the feelings of the large group of media representatives who were assembled to watch the escape. In short, it was real, it was performed without trickery or gimmicks, and it was intense.
