Description

Custom snakeskin-covered Bentley GT gives a luxury auto some high-fashion flair The $13,000 add-on for the luxury car uses authentic snakeskin from snakes farmed for the leather industry. The car is customized by Latvia-based Dartz Motorz. Snakeskin purses and shoes have been around for years, but what a snakeskin car? Latvia-based car customizer Dartz Motorz is launching a special-edition snakeskin Bentley GT. The Bentley SS, standing for "snakeskin," will be launched next year, just in time for the Chinese Year of the Snake. The ultimate luxury add-on to this luxury ride, Dartz uses skin farmed from snakes used in the leather industry, reports British tabloid The Sun. The skin covers the car's exterior as well as interior accents and along the dashboard. More PETA-conscious customers can substitute the scales for a lookalike vinyl covering. As for the total cost, company owner Leonard Yankelovich told the Daily News, "We are working worldwide and we quote prices personally with every customer." The Sun quotes the price for swapping a traditional paint job for swanky snake skin at £8,000, or nearly $13,000. While $13,000 may be enough to buy a brand new Nissan Versa, Chevrolet Aveo, or Hyundai Accent, it all comes to down to form versus function. When factored into the $178,000 base price of the GT, a $13,000 may not a total budget-buster.
