New Ghostbusters Details & Why Emma Stone Passed Subscribe Now! ► http://bit.ly/SubClevverMovies Production on next year’s all-female Ghostbusters has begun and with it new details on what we can expect from the new comedy. Cameras on next year’s highly anticipated Ghostbusters reboot officially began rolling today and with it comes new details on the film’s plot and a whole lot more! Director Paul Feig took to Twitter to announce the start of production tweeting out a photo of himself playing with the famous green slime seen in the first film with the hashtag “Slime Time Starts Tomorrow”. Though the film is set to once again take place in New York City, the bulk of production will occur in Boston. Beyond stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones strapping on proton packs to bust some ghosts, not much is known about the film’s plot, but the Boston Herald’s sources have revealed that McCarthy and Wiig will play authors of a book suggesting that ghosts are real that doesn’t get much attention. Years later, Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University and soon becomes a laughing stock when her book resurfaces. She then reunites with McCarthy’s characters, along with McKinnon and Jones, to create the ghost capturing business and are then tasked with saving the world when ghosts begin attacking the city. It’s been stated previously that the film will take place in a separate universe from the original films, but the Herald’s sources confirm that Slimer, the ghost featured in the first film, will make an appearance. As for the original cast members, Feig previously stated that he would love for them all to appear in the film, but none of them would be playing their original characters. Original star Dan Aykroyd, who is an executive producer on the reboot, recently told Spinoff Online that he would appear in the film if Feig wants him to, but he’s leaving him alone to do his thing. He did reveal that the film will refer to the first two films in a quote, “really neat, classy way, but this is all going to introduce them to a whole new generation of girls that are going to want to be Ghostbusters. We always needed them.” In other Ghostbusters news, when an all-female reboot was first mentioned, there was talk that Emma Stone could potentially play one of the leads. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Stone revealed that the script was really funny, but ultimately turned it down because she didn’t think taking on the commitment of another franchise was right for her at this time. Looks like we can blame The Amazing Spider-Man for yet another thing, but who’s excited for the Ghostbusters reboot? Will you see it when it arrives in theaters on July 22nd next year?
