A Runway Celebration of Glass Couture Introducing BURST - an extraordinary fundraising experience for MOCA Calgary, featuring glass couture under the stunning light of the catwalk; is un-parallel in Calgary. Each ensemble is designed with glass as the focal point by artists whom regularly participate in the international glass couture scene, with artists and their designs traveling from destinations such as Tokyo and Sao Paulo. BURST showcases the creativity and artistic nature within art and fashion; where fantasy and self-expression collide. Working with glass techniques of cast, blown, stained, flame-worked, hot sculpted and cold worked, these artists create assemblages that blur the lines of fashion, art and performance. Attendees will be delighted with breath-taking vestments on a runway intermingled with local artist Leslie Bell’s site specific installation piece, Simulacra.
