The Internet Was Made for...Public Shaming?

Description

In the modern day, most people are deeply digitally connected through social networking. We can even instantly share photos and videos from whatever we're looking at instantly. A lot of the time...this technological ability is used to shame people for the things they do and say in public. Should this be happening? Social media allows all of us to become whistleblowers, exposing misdeeds to the larger world. But as Spiderman noted, with great power comes great responsibility. Are we prepared to wield that power? And what if what's being exposed are not misdeeds, but misogynistic voyeurism? Is it a good thing or a bad thing that we all (more or less) have the ability to put anything we want on blast? Host: Ana Kasparian (The Young Turks) Panel: Alyona Minkovski (Host, Producer - HuffPostLive) Sara Benincasa (Comedian, Author - "Agorafabulous") John Iadarola (Host - TYT University, Common Room) Don't forget to join the discussion in the comments and tweet to us at https://twitter.com/ThePointTYT Subscribe for more of The Point: Subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=townsquare
