Nino Rota Giulietta e Romeo - Claudio Ferrarini flute Emanuela Battigelli harp The film's soundtrack was composed and conducted by Nino Rota, originally recorded on vinyl disc containing nine songs, including the famous "What Is a Youth" (Love Theme From Romeo and Juliet) with text by Eugene Walter, played Glen Weston. The song "Ai Giochi Addio" (Italian version of: What is a Youth) with text by Elsa Morante, was given to the singer Bruno Filippini, who plays the minstrel and who had won the Castrocaro Festival with Gigliola Cinquetti. This version has also been interpreted by Luciano Pavarotti and Natasha Marsh (British soprano). Other versions of What is a Youth: "A Time for Us" with text by Larry Kusik and Eddie Snyder, "One day for us" text Alfredo Rapetti (aka: Cheops), "Um moment para nós" text Alf Soares and "Kun aika" text Aarno Raninen. Numerous interpretations These have included those of Fausto Papetti, Stelvio Cipriani, Ray Conniff, Richard Clayderman, Shirley Bassey, Stevie Wonder, Jackie Evancho, Andre Rieu, Loreena McKennitt.
