Country of origin: United Kingdom Location: Bristol Status: Active Formed in: 1982 Genre: Hardcore Punk (early), Thrash Metal (later) Lyrical themes: Death, Violence, Satan Current label: AFM Records Years active: 1982-1991, 2004-present Started as a hardcore punk band and released several demos in this style before shifting to their more well-known thrash metal approach. Not to be confused with another punk band called Onslaught from the UK, who released an 7" called "First Strike" on Control Rec. in 1984. The band's line-up was shuffled considerably following "Power From Hell." Bassist Jason Stallard became the second guitarist, and Paul Mahoney took over playing bass to allow Sy Keeler to take his place as vocalist. After signing to major label imprint London Records, Onslaught were coerced into replacing Sy Keeler with Steve Grimmett. After "In Search of Sanity" was released, the band were dropped. Tony O'Hora came in as vocalist for a brief period before the band parted ways in 1991. Reformed in 2004.
