At Ferns Paradise Layout in Bangalore , residents and a water supplier came up with a cost effective way of transporting the treated waste water to the households from the layout's waste water treatment system ,by using a syntax tank mounted on a tractor lorry.The residents welfare association arranged for a loan to help this supplier with initial investment in tractor/trolly/tanker. The supplier charges a monthly fees of Rs 400 per house for watering their garden using treated water.The tractor is also contracted on monthly basis for transporting any material within layout and to transport STP treated water to common areas of the layout . Thus along with efficient water management practices, Ferns Paradise layout also presents a good model for encouraging small scale entrepreneurs in a mutually beneficial manner.
