In the first Bible prophecy recorded in Genesis 3:14, 15, Jehovah God predicted would be enmity between "the snake" and "women" and their respective 'offspring'. Throughout the Bible testifies to the fulfillment of this prophecy. Jesus clearly identified the snake as Satan the Devil, and also told him that they came chasing "of their father the devil", and therefore was part of their "offspring". (John 8:37-59.) The book of Revelation shows that this persecution would continue until the time when Christ took the real power, and even for some time after, because when the Earth casts Satan and his angels, the Dragon 'pursues the woman, and goes to war against the rest of her offspring who obey God and bear testimony to Jesus'.
