Update: I've blogged about the amazing response here: http://with-tech.net/2013/05/06/reddit-and-i-give-87yo-veteran-grandad-gift/ My Grandad was in the Royal Navy in WWII, in the submarines. I went over to set up his new PC that I'd made for him a few weeks ago and he showed me a photo that a relative had emailed him, of him in his uniform back when he was about 20. The photo was in a bad state and I said I'd see what I could do to sort out some of the cracks, so emailed it to myself to see what could be done. I went onto Reddit and posted it on Pic Requests (www.reddit.com/r/picrequests) to see if anyone could help out. Here's the original post: http://www.reddit.com/r/picrequests/comments/1cuwz6/request_my_awesome_87_year_old_grandad_wondered/ The people on there were amazing and I ended up with some brilliant results, so I printed them off and framed my favourite one to give to him. My girlfriend kindly recorded it for me, so that I could share his reaction with the people who helped make it happen!
