Basically, they are red velvets, so if you want to make red velvets, just use 1 tablespoon of liquid red food colouring instead of the colours i used to get my purple coloured cupcakes. :) How to make cake flour for this amount needed: 1 1/4 cup of plain flour, minus 2 1/2 tablespoons and replaced with 2 1/2 tablespoons of corn flour/corn starch Ingredients: Violet Velvets: - 1 1/4 cup (125g) cake flour (but if you cant find cake flour or cant be bothered making it, plain flour works just as beautifully) - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1 tablespoon cocoa powder - 1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, softened - 3/4 cups (150g) caster sugar - 1 large egg - 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract - 1/2 cup (120ml) buttermilk - 1 teaspoon + 2 drops PINK food colouring - 1/2 teaspoon + 1 drop BLUE food colouring - 2 drops RED food colouring - 1/2 teaspoon white distilled vinegar - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Cream cheese frosting: - 250g cream cheese, softened at room temp. - 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract - 1/2 cup + 1/4 cup icing sugar - 2/3 cup (160ml) double cream or heavy whipping cream - 1/2 teaspoon PINK food colouring - 1/2 teaspoon BLUE food colouring - 1/2 teaspoon RED Preheat oven to 175degreesC Bake at 175degreesC for 15mins then at 135degreesC for 5mins then at 160degreesC for 5-8mins Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored video.
