Here Dr. Brittney Barton of Dallas cares for shelter cat Skinny, an obese, 42-pound feline who attracted global news attention when rescued as a stray in 2012. Dr. Barton explains her weight loss program for Skinny and observes that more than half of all pets are obese, a condition that causes problems with joints, organs, and quality of life, while if untreated can become terminal.
