Cuts Hurt Everyone 2013

Description

CPSU members are fighting for public services under threat from Coalition plans to slash thousands of jobs, if elected. Public services will be at the heart of the 2013 federal election election campaign and we want to make sure the voice of public sector workers is heard. If elected a Coalition government would: • Cut at least 12,000 jobs in the Australian public service • Slash $50-$70 billion off government spending • Abolish the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency as well as implement major cuts in other public service agencies including DEEWR, DOHA and DMO. • Adopt a UK-style 'Big Society' austerity agenda which has seen massive public sector job losses and large scale outsourcing of public sector work to multinational companies like Serco and GS4.
