Description

On Tuesday 03rd May 2016, commuters and tourists on the banks of the river Thames, London were treated to a complimentary morning coffee, handed out by Rebecca Adlington to mark the 10 billionth litre of water to be purified as part of the P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water programme (CSDW). The Programme, which started in 2004, works with more than 150 partners and organisations to provide clean drinking water. It is estimated that nearly 700 million people worldwide struggle each day to have drinkable water. The programme, which is not-for-profit, helps those in times of crisis – such as after an earthquake – and in daily life in remote and rural areas. P&G Purifier of Water, an invention by British P&G scientist Dr. Phil Souter, has made the entire programme possible. Dr Souter, inspired from his own travels and witness of poor water, sanitation and hygiene, created the water cleaning technology as part of a new product development programme. The outcome was the P&G Purifier of Water powdered technology a mini water treatment plant in a small packet the size of a tea bag Find out more about the P&G Children's Safe Drinking Water Programme at www.csdw.org Learn more about P&G at www.pg.co.uk | Twitter: @PGUK
