Smith will address the legislative and regulatory challenges that are impacting the future growth and success of broadcast radio and television stations, as well as broadcasting's vital role in every community and its ability to serve as a lifeline, reaching more Americans than all other mediums combined. NAB Distinguished Service Award: Jorge Ramos, Anchor, "Noticiero Univision" and Host, "Al Punto," Univision Host, "America with Jorge Ramos," Fusion TV Each year, the NAB Distinguished Service Award (DSA) recognizes members of the broadcast community who have made significant and lasting contributions to broadcasting. Considered one of the most eloquent, credible and powerful voices of Hispanic America, Jorge Ramos has-been the anchorman for the award-winning evening news program "Noticiero Univision" (Univision News) since 1986. Ramos also hosts "Al Punto" (To the Point), Univision's weekly public affairs program. Ramos has received eight Emmy awards for excellence in journalism, including the first one ever presented to honor leaders of Spanish-language television. Ramos immigrated to the United States from Mexico in 1983. At the age of 28, he became one of the youngest national news anchors in the history of American television.
