Description

Dave interviews Pauly Shore, just after the release of his first hit movie “Encino Man.” The film became notorious in critics circles as one of the worst movies of the year. In fact Pauly Shore received the Razzie Award for “Worst New Star” for his performance in the movie. However, the film's appeal to mass audiences allowed the movie to bring in some 40 million dollars profit – nearly six times the amount of profit it took to make Encino Man. Despite the poor ratings Shore became a fairly popular "stoner" celebrity in the early to mid 1990's. Some of his other film of note are "Biodome", "Son in Law", "In the Army Now", and "Jury Duty." Today Encino Man rates a 16 out of 100 (16%) on the movie web-site Rotton Tomatoes, although its general public appeal rating stands at 56%( http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/encino_man/?search=Encino%20Man )
