Description

Phase 1 availabe here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ5osAQ6nfc In this next phase, we now have a "paper prototype". Looking at this end to end, our backend is still Firebase. We now have four boolean variables which represent the locations. When one is true, the rest are false. The node server uses Firebase's library to connect via a websocket to create a real time connection. We watch for changes in the data set and when a new location is set to true, we tell the servo to move to a certain number of degrees. This makes the arm of the clock point to the correct segment. On the Arduino side, we are just using the servo. The clock is made from a piece of card and the hand is felt. The App allows control over the clock. This is built using Ionic (a mixture of Angular, Cordova and Ionic's own UI layer). This again connects to Firebase and updates the datastore when clicking on a button. All in real time...
