This event was moderated by Ousseina Alidou, Rutgers University; with invited speakers Sylviane Diouf, Schomburg Center; Meheli Sen, Rutgers University; Fawzia Afzal-Khan, Montclair State University; Heather Marie Akou, Indiana University; Pallabi Chakraborty, Swarthmore College; Fakhri Haghani, Rutgers University. Featuring an exhibition of clothes and textiles from the Fertile Crescent, Out of the Closet; musical performace by Mandinka traditional music from Senegal, and "Everyday Islam" photographs by Annanya Dasgupta. This event took place on December 6, 2012, at the Rutgers Student Center, New Brunswick, NJ.
