Vegter “And Then” Verse 1: We hear once upon a time My story’s your story, your story’s mine Hopes and dreams we tell To each other, to ourselves Verse 2: We sit, hearts pounding, eyes wide Villains or heroes, choose a side What we are we strive to find Words, good and bad, are intertwined Chorus: We come into this world a blank slate Tell me a story we learn to say Our minds, our hearts we wait For the story to begin and then… Verse 3: You walk away, half in a slumber Because you forgot her number You run back, heart and note in hand Life, as you know, never goes as planned (Chorus) Verse 4: I leave a letter on your desk Hope against hope, pounding in my chest I silently beg, read between the lines you pull me into a hug that says I love you for all time Bridge: Our lovers, our friends Beginnings, our ends Separated by time and space Connected, our words form the human race (Chorus)
