Description

It was lovely, it was looted, it was neglected, it's in ruins ... but it's still very pretty, what's left of it. Various troops quartered here during WWII and ransacked the Ibanez estate in Menton, France on the Côte d'Azur. He was a great writer whose works made it to Hollywood, but everything does pass ... Tours are given here twice weekly, and even if there isn't much left to see, I found the guide very informative. Menton is an absolute winner as a destination on the French Riviera, in my opinion. It's pretty much got something for everyone, I'd say. I'm disabled, and you can hear my breathing is labored, in this clip. Menton, nonetheless, has long been a "try to recover your health" destination, so even though practically nothing is "accessible," the microclimate and the ambiance/vibe are pleasant, to say the least. Driving's scary in this terrain, but heck, a lovely train can get you right here. So, also, can a yacht, come to think of it! copyright 2013 Lisa B.
