The Prometheus sequel is moving forward, and the studio is in talks with Jack Paglen to write the script. Remember Jack Paglen's name. The new scribe on the block is about to make his mark in Hollywood thanks to his script for Transcendence, which will be one of the big movies of 2014, starring Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman. Transcendence also has as a stellar collaborative team including Christopher Nolan and Oscar winning cinematographer Wally Pfister on board, with Pfister making his directoral debut on the project. Today, we have learned that Jack Paglen is currently in negotiations with Fox and Ridley Scott to write the script to another hot sci-fi property, Prometheus 2. The first Prometheus film came out in June of 2012, and starred Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, and Charlize Theron. The script for the original Prometheus was written by Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts, and followed a team of explorers as they searched for the origins of human kind, and the film was set up to be somewhat of a prequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fier, Alien. And after making around $400 million worldwide, and taking its spot as the 15th highest grossing movie of the year, it was no surprise that Fox announced that a Prometheus sequel was on its way. We obviously don't know anything yet about the studio's plans for the sequel, but we will likely start hearing updates on which members of the cast, if any, will be returning for the part 2.
