T/I: 10:17:48 French President Jacques Chirac will on Tuesday afternoon (17/12) open his country's new national library. The Bibliotheque de France, which comprises four buildings shaped like books, was the last of former President Francois Mitterrand's "Grand Projects." The library has been built on the banks of the river Seine, in Paris's 13th arrondissment, replacing the old national library in the 1st arrondissment. The Bibliotheque de France will house 12 million books and employ 1,200 staff.
