The NEA National Heritage Fellowships Concert was held at the George Washington University's Lisner Auditoriumon Friday, onSeptember 19, 2014. Emceed by American Routes host Nick Spitzer, the concert celebrated the 2014 recipients of the NEA National Heritage Fellowship, the nation's highest honor in the folk & traditional arts. The 2014 recipients are Mohawk basketmaker Henry Arquette, Tejano musician and singer Manuel "Cowboy" Donley, Irish step dancer Kevin Doyle, blues, gospel, and R&B band The Holmes Brothers, Odawa quillworker Yvonne Walker Keshick, quilting community advocate Carolyn Mazloomi, Ukrainian embroiderer and beadworker Vera Nakonechny, African-American religious singers Singing & Praying Bands of Maryland and Delaware, and Omaha traditional singer and drum group leader Rufus White.
