Description

The video shows how to remove pop-up windows caused by adware from Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer with FreeFixer. If you see pop-ups or new tabs appearing while surfing on websites that generally don't show pop-up ads and the pop-up windows bypass the pop-up blocker in your browser, you probably have adware installed and running on your computer. The video demonstrates how to use the freeware malware-removal tool FreeFixer to track down and delete the adware and stop the unwanted pop-ups. The removal procedure works on Windows XP up until Windows 8.1. Both 32-bit and 64 Windows are supported by the FreeFixer program. As shown in the video, the following steps are performed to identify and remove the adware: 1. Download and install FreeFixer from http://www.freefixer.com/download.html. It's freeware. 2. Start the FreeFixer scan. After approximately five minutes, the scan should be complete. 3. Carefully examine the FreeFixer scan result and select the adware items for removal. Important: Leave other items unchecked. In the video I show how to use the "More Info" links in FreeFixer to view the VirusTotal report to determine if a file is safe or malware. 4. If the adware has installed itself in Chrome, remove the adware by typing in "chrome://extensions", without the quotes, in Chrome's address bar and remove the unwanted extension by clicking the trash can icon. 5. Click the Fix button in FreeFixer. This will delete the unwanted files you checked for removal. 6. FreeFixer sometimes asks you to reboot your machine, please do so to complete the removal. 7. Done. What adware did you remove from your computer? Did that stop the pop-ups? Please share by posting a comment. Thank you very much for watching!
