Description

In many ways, Houston is a great city for Spanish-speaking Americans having the second-highest number of Latinos of any city in the country. About 1 in every 3 residents of Houston speak spanish at home. Viva Cinemas tried to be the first spanish language theater recently. the eight-screen movie theater showed only movies dubbed in Spanish or with Spanish subtitles with American films as well as imported Spanish films. However after only 6 months they closed their doors and are suing AMC claiming they conspired against them and that AMC made “clearance” agreements with the seven biggest movie distributors. It is alleged that if Viva got access to certain films than AMC would not distribute that film at its nearby theaters causing the distributors to back out of supplying Viva with certain films. http://fusion.net/story/307335/viva-cinemas-amc-spanish-movie-houston/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
