Description

[The treatment program at Choices Recovery, as our name suggests, is all about learning how to make healthy and positive decisions in our lives. The direction that our paths take us through life is a result of the choices that we make and the manner in which we face the consequences of those choices, both positive and negative. Most of the people that come to us seeking help in overcoming their addictions have made some poor choices in the course of their lives, but it is never to late to reverse the effects of those decisions. Beginning with the decision to seek treatment for their substance abuse, our patients soon learn that they have the strength and ability to make life choices that will ultimately lead them to a brighter place. Rather than focusing only on the negative aspects of addiction, Choices Recovery places great emphasis on spotlighting the positive benefits of making healthier life decisions. At Durkin Entertainment’s “RockNRolla Movie Awards” EcoLuxe Lounge, a daylong event held on April 8th, 2015 at the famous Avalon Hollywood and sponsored by Choices, TV and film star Chase Masterson joined us to host our Celebrity Interview Lounge, spending the day talking with many of the notable contributors to the entertainment industry and professional athletes and artists that were in attendance. The EcoLuxe Lounge, a premier Red Carpet event that makes appearances at various awards ceremonies and festivals throughout the year, is organized by Debbie Durkin, Los Angeles’ leading producer of sustainable product placement in TV and film, and features some of the world’s top providers of eco-friendly and socially conscious products and services. Among those that took some time to sit with Chase and share their perspective on addiction and recovery was Olympic competitor and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Louise Hazel, who has made several television appearances in the past few years. She spoke with Chase about the choices she has made in her lifetime and the positive impact that those decisions have had on her career and the places that it has taken her. “For me, it was simple. I didn’t want to take the easy route,” Louise shared. “I knew that, to make it to the Olympic games, it would be a challenge and it would take dedication. I didn’t want to go out partying. I thought ‘I only have one life and I want to live it to the fullest. I don’t want to miss it because I’m hung over. I don’t want to feel like I’m with friends who are going to pressure me into doing something. It’s my life, I’m going to take control of it.’” At Choices Recovery, our goal is to help our patients discover the tools and skills that they need to make decisions that will benefit them and those around them. We help them to understand the level of personal responsibility that they hold in their recovery and in their lives. Our patients come to find that the opportunity for a brighter tomorrow depends on the Choices that they make today.
