Description

Time-lapse Photography of the Construction of the newly opened D. Dan and Betty Kahn Mechanical Engineering Building at Technion, Photographed during the years 2009-2014. Film made by Jonathan Spitz, Technion PhD student in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Jonathan took 4-5 pictures almost daily from the 7th floor of the Lady Davis building.except when there was no construction going on or no change in the outside structure of the building. All in all he took over 1500 pictures which he then hand picked to create the relatively smooth sequence. In order to have a smooth sequence he had to take the pictures at the same time each day (so the shadows wouldn't move), also taking into account daylight savings time. The movie was created by interpolating the selected pictures using an algorithm that Jonathan wrote. By walking up 3 flights of stairs each time, he "climbed" over 3000 meters (about half-way to Mount Everest's summit) Music from free-scores.com.
