Nineteen-year-old William Dutton's winning performance in the BBC Young Musician 2014 Strings Final. The two pieces he performs are Nigun from Ball Shen by Ernest Bloch and Efrem Zimablist's Fantasy on themes from Rimsky-Korsakov's opera The Golden Cockerel. William has been a musician from a young age, playing the violin from the age of four and becoming a member of the National Children's Orchestra only a few years later. He was also a talented treble singer, becoming BBC Radio 2 Young Chorister of the Year in 2006, and was a member of the treble boyband The Choirboys as well as one of the three boys in Kenneth Branagh's film production of The Magic Flute. William is currently a student at the Yehudi Menuhin School and is hoping to continue his musical studies in Lausanne, Switzerland, from September.
