It builds on the rhythm of our heartbeats and tells our story of blended cultures, struggle, and joy. This poetic talk includes an original song composed for TEDxJackson. Vasti Jackson is a renowned guitarist, vocalist and songwriter who has delighted audiences around the world for more than 35 years. The McComb, Mississippi native has performed on recordings from B.B. King, Cassandra Wilson, Wynton Marsalis and many others. He has appeared on Dan Akroyd’s House of Blues Radio Hour and contributed to shows on the HBO, Starz Encore Network, Mississippi Public Broadcasting, PBS, VH1, the British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC), and radio and television programs in Australia, Uruguay, Finland and Canada. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
