Infamous Abu Ghraib prison shuts down

Description

The Iraqi Justice Ministry is temporarily closing the Abu Ghraib prison that made headlines in early 2004 over revelations of widespread prisoner abuse. All of the 2,400 inmates have been transferred from the prison in the increasingly violent Anbar province. Fallujah, the city where some of the most significant fighting during the US occupation of Iraq occurred, was recaptured by insurgents at the beginning of this year, and has caused the security of the province to spiral downwards. This comes on the heels of a well-planned Al-Qaeda attack on the facility last year, which resulted in more than 500 inmates escaping. RT's Lindsay France has more details on the closing of this infamous prison.
