Description

"International NGOs in a Post-Arab Spring World" with Dahlia Khoury Sader, Humphrey Fellow The reverberations of the Arab Spring are still being felt and its ending has yet to be written. International NGOs were and are intricately involved in a myriad of ways. Peer to Peer's inaugural session will feature former Mercy Corps Program Manager and current Humphrey Fellow Dahlia Khoury Sader, who most recently was stationed in Libya. She will discuss her experiences and perspective on some of the following aspects of International NGOs in a Post-Arab Spring World: • How and when did the INGOs intervene? • What kind of programs did they provide? • How did these programs impact the communities they served or not? • Perceptions of these communities to INGOs • Recommendations of program implementation. Ms. Dahlia Khoury Sader is a Humphrey Fellow, interested in capacity building, systems of transparency and electoral processes. Upon completion of her Fellowship, she plans to use the lessons learned to improve transparency and efficacy in local institutions in Lebanon and MENA region. Dahlia most recently served the Program Manager for Mercy Corps. She holds degrees and professional certificates in Strategic Negotiations, Political Sciences, International Affairs and Diplomacy from University Paris Sud VI Sceaux, La Sagesse University, Notre Dame University, and Portland State University.
