Victoriaville, Friday May 4th, CUTV live crew found an injured student in need of immediate help. Witnesses on the seen told us that he was shot by the SQ while he had his left side to them. (the injury is to the left side of his head). Union medics at the scene asked the SQ to get an ambulance and were refused. The medics called an ambulance on 911. Our crew attempted to get the SQ to call for an ambulance and were almost arrested for asking the officers to do their job and to let the ambulance throw the barricades. Finally when the Ambulance arrived, the crowed made way for it to get throw. The SQ took advantage of the space made by the crowed and attacked instead of letting the ambulance pass. This further delayed the ambulance another 5 minutes and exposed the injured to more chemicals. CUTV holds the SQ responsible for any and all consequences to the life of the student. All international conventions stipulate that access to medical aid must be protected even in a war zone which Victoriaville was not.
