Description

Two spacewalkers prepared to take on a quick computer repair job at the International Space Station on Wednesday, which is shaping up as one of the busiest days in orbit for the six-man crew. NASA astronauts Rick Mastracchio and Steve Swanson are due to head out and replace a backup computer box that failed less than two weeks ago with a spare. Meanwhile, their Russian crewmates — Mikhail Tyurin, Alexander Skvortsov and Oleg Artemyev — have been preparing for a previously planned test of an automated rendezvous system installed on a robotic Progress cargo ship. NASA flight director Brian Smith said it's unusual to schedule an extravehicular activity, or EVA, amid so many other tasks.
