Description

Iraqi troops, backed by popular forces, have liberated some villages around the Iraqi city of Fallujah from the Daesh terrorists. The operation to liberate Fallujah started on Monday. Daesh terrorists have used car bombs and improvised explosive devices to hinder the progress of the Iraqi forces. Since August, Iraqi troops have tightened their grip around the city. Fallujah, which is the second largest city in Anbar province has been under the control of the Takfiri group since early 2014. The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by violence since ISIL terrorists began their deadly campaign in the country in June 2014. Press TV’s Altaf Ahmad gives us more details about the liberation of Fallujah amid attempts by the Iraqi forces to cut a major supply route of Daesh Takfiri terrorists.
