Description

A tolhurst parody in advance of the 2014 F1 season. Hitler is reminded that Mark Webber has left F1 to drive for "PORSH" which he had forgotten. He WAS informed last year, though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SN9c83gkfxc Hitler is a long-time fan of Formula One, as watching the race is the only thing you can do on a Sunday in Germany. He admires Webber's dogged determination and sportsmanship, although he cannot pronounce Porsche, even to the extent that Hitler prefers him over the four German drivers on the 2014 grid. Being reminded that there is no Webber in 2014 focuses Hitler's mind on the amount of dosh he has to pay to watch F1 (although Traudl tells Gerda she has learnt German so she can watch on RTL); the seemingly-novice drivers on the grid (Hitler ignores that the field contains no fewer than five former champions despite Vettel's long run of success); the new regs which Hitler says will have all cars powered by a Nissan Micra engine; the random start numbers as though they won them in a church raffle; and the sheer weight of irrelevant singers and actresses who just seem to materialise on the grid so that you can't see the drivers. At the next Monaco Grand Prix, Hitler will be watching for that and also to ensure that, if Rosberg wins in the Mercedes, it is not because he has taken a wrong turn driving home from the hairdresser to his Monte Carlo flat in his fiancée's A-Class. Hitler doesn't realise that Aussie Daniel Ricciardo has taken Webber's seat. Daniel has a challenge ahead in what is surely the best F1 car. In February 2014, the expected teams and drivers on the starting grid were: Caterham-Renault: Marcus Ericsson (S) (9) ; Kamui Kobayashi (J) (10) Scuderia Ferrari: Kimi Räikkönen (FIN) (7); Fernando Alonso (E),(14) Force India-Mercedes: Sergio Pérez (MEX) (11); Nico Hülkenberg (D) (27) Lotus-Renault: Romain Grosjean (F) (8); Pastor Maldonado (YV) (13) (someone must inform Hitler that Maldonado has a number that they did not use to have in F1!) Marussia-Ferrari: Max Chilton (GB) (4); Jules Bianchi (F) (17) McLaren-Mercedes: Kevin Magnussen (DK) (20); Jenson Button (GB) (22) Mercedes: Nico Rosberg (D) (6); Lewis Hamilton (GB) (44) Red Bull-Renault: Sebastian Vettel (D) (1); Daniel Ricciardo (AUS) (3) Sauber-Ferrari: Esteban Gutiérrez (MEX) (21); Adrian Sutil (D) (99) Toro Rosso-Renault: Jean-Éric Vergne (F) (25); Daniel Kvyat (RUS) (26) Williams-Mercedes: Felipe Massa (BR) (19); Valtteri Bottas (FIN) (77) 2014 F1 Grand Prix locations: Australia Malaysia Bahrain China Spain Monaco Canada Austria Great Britain Germany Hungary Belgium Italy Singapore Japan Russia United States Brazil Abu Dhabi Copyright Disclaimer: Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for fair use for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
