Description

By the grace of Allah, Redha Abdullah Al Ghasra and Hussain Al Bana, the two detainees who escaped from the Reformation and Rehabilitation Center on April 21, were arrested early this morning. The arrests came as a result of an intensified manhunt for the individuals. Cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the National Security Agency led to the two escapees who were found hiding in a house in Saar along with seven other wanted individuals. Police also confiscated weapons, bullets, explosives and remote detonators from the location. Some of those arrested told investigators that they had used Mattams (Community Centers) in different villages to store homemade weapons and bomb-making material. The Mattams in questions were then searched by police in the presence of the Governor, representatives of the Jaffary Endowments and the caretakers of the Mattams. Bomb-making material and ready-to-use launchers were confiscated. Legal procedures are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution. As a result of the successful operation, His Excellency Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa visited on Wednesday the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science accompanied by the Minister of State for Interior Affairs, Major-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel and Chief of Public Security, and Major-General Tariq Al Hassan. He met a number of officers and non-commissioned officers from the Interior Ministry and the NSA to express his thanks and appreciation to their work and prayed to Allah for the protection of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty the King.
