Description

The search for survivors in waters off Korea's southwestern coast continues. And joining us now is Michelle Park for a look at the conditions down near Jindo. Michelle how are the conditions in the area right now? It's getting foggier in Jindo right now and anytime soon we are expecting rain with strong winds blowing in at 12 meters per second,... bringing up wave heights to 2 meters. The average speed of the tides is estimated at between 2-point-8 to 10 meters per second,... which is hindering rescue efforts. Two periods of slowed tides has already passed, one passed just about an hour ago, leaving only one more at 11:13 p.m. local time,.. which will only last about an hour. The water temperature is currently 11-point-5 degrees Celsius, with winds blowing at 6-point-9 meters per second and the height of waves at 1.9 meters which is pretty high. Tomorrow bad weather condition continues with cloudy skies and strong winds blowing bringing up the height of the wave up to 2.5 meters which will calm down late afternoon. We'll continue to monitor the situation down near Jindo and hope for the best. For the rest of the nation, we can expect a cloudy day tomorrow due to the influence of high pressure front with drops in temperatures. That's all for now. I'm Michelle Park, and back to you, Conn-young
