Julie holds an M.A in archaeology from the University of Saskatchewan specializing in the mobility of pre-contact hunter-gatherers through the analysis of stone tools, specifically in the boreal forest regions of northern Alberta and Saskatchewan. Julie maintains an interest in exchange networks and has worked on terrestrial and underwater sites in Nicaragua, Greece, and Canada. She is currently working professionally for a Cultural Resource Management company in Alberta, working in some fairly remote locations where access requires the use of a helicopter, ATVs and/or argos. Julie has travelled extensively while growing up having lived in Bolivia, western Canada, West Papua and on board a barquentine in her grade 11 year travelling the world and learning how to sail. Stemming from her childhood, she believes in travelling off the beaten path in order to gain a better perspective and understanding of, both, past and present cultures.
