Gun Tests Review: Glock 42 380 ACP

Description

In the November 2014 issue, we evaluated 380 ACP pocket pistols, one of which was Glock’s new Model 42. We thought this was an above-average gun, but it’s not a “must have” item. Here’s why: It wasn’t the most accurate gun in the test, unless we accessorized it with a Viridian Green Laser. If you add that $230 upgrade, we’d definitely buy the Glock. The Glock wasn’t the smallest pistol, so it didn’t hide as well as the tested Kahr CW 380. Some female shooters had trouble retracting the slide. The SIG P238 and Colt XSP were much easier to rack. Our female shooters liked the Glock’s grip length. Gun Tests magazine accepts no commercial advertising. To read our no-holds-barred review of the Glock 42 and its grade, subscribe today.
