http://slctbld.es/bk3 - Click to discuss the BK3 on Select Billiards This cue has a yellow rubber butt cap with a silver ring accent on the butt. The handle is a black, high gloss Maple finish. The BK3 is currently available in a no-wrap handle. The cue transitions from glossy to a matte finish in the middle. You can see the joint clearly features a carbon fiber wrap which extends up through the shaft for greater power and flexibility. This cue features a stainless steel joint with a Uni-Loc pin. It has a carbon fiber pad on top of the ferrule, with a phenolic tip on top. It comes stock with a BK 3 shaft, which is designed specifically for this cue to ensure a powerful break. This is a break stick so you don't want to use it for normal play. You just use this to break the balls on your first shot. It hits extremely hard, due to it's carbon fiber pad and pheonalic tip. Also worth noting is that it doesn't grip the ball as well as a traditional leather tip. This cue is designed to give you lots of power and it delivers! This cue hits very hard! The balls seem almost like they explode when hit with the cue from a BK3 break. As you can see in the video review, you'll get phenomenal breaks with the BK3 whether you're using a standard rack or a Magic Rack. You can also see that the shaft has a good amount of flex when it comes into contact with the cue ball. It's important to note that all break cues have some flex when they hit. This is necessary so that the shaft contacts a specific part of the cue ball for the short period of time that the cue and ball come into contact with each other. What's remarkable about this cue is how quickly it springs back to a neutral position after it flexes. This is due to the carbon fiber core in the center of the shaft. Final Thoughts: This is a superb break stick. It's got a modern design that should fit in nicely with your existing standard play cues. Play-wise, it's a quite possibly the best break cue I've used. If you're looking to make a big impact (both literally and figuratively) when you break, get the Predator BK3.
