Description

Our team of intrepid Globe Trekkers take on some of the most breathtaking and most challenging hikes in America. Every year, more than four hundred thousand caribou migrate across the Arctic tundra to their winter homes. Following them is Bradley Cooper who uses all manner of gizmo and gadget to find his prey – armed only with a camera and a long-lense. With a little help from an expert guide, Bradley learns what being an outdoorsman is all about. Cristina LaMonica heads deep into the backcountry of California. After having a look at the majestic Sequoia Redwoods, Cristina heads into King’s Canyon, one of the most stunningly beautiful parts of California. Cristina’s task is to find her way out of the spectacular King’s Canyon with nothing but a compass, her guide and her wits. The island of Molokai is one of Hawaii’s least visited islands. Wild World trekker Christina Lamonica heads on a cross-island tour with Native Hawaiian cultural specialist, finding the highest sea-cliffs in the world, swimming in waterfalls, and enduring freak weather storms. The second half of the show couldn’t be more different. We find Holly Morris hiking part of one of America’s most famous trails – the Appalachian Trail. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Holly attempts the part of the trail that takes her up Mount Washington in New Hampshire, known as one of the windiest places on earth and home to temperatures only experienced in Antarctica. Holly Morris goes to Oklahoma, where she discovers the beauty of the Plains and the ancient ways of the plains Indians – keeping up their traditions in modern day America. Journeying with elders from both the Kiowa and Cheyenne tribes, Holly visits Elk Mountain, attends a pow-wow, and purifies herself in a sweat lodge.
