Claire Berlinski argues that Margaret Thatcher deserves credit for reversing Great Britain's decline in the world during the 1970s. Ms. Berlinski says that Prime Minister Thatcher was instrumental in turning around the country's economy and saving it from socialism. At this event hosted by the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., she talked about the relevance of the strategies by which Mrs. Thatcher gained power in 1979 to the 2010 midterm elections. Ms. Berlinski, who lives in Istanbul, also talked about foreign affairs, concentrating on Turkey, including its involvement with aid to the Palestinians in Gaza. She responded to questions from members of the audience.
