Description

I used the same Zeiss ZE 35mm at an F/4 to shoot both tests; the first on the Red One MX (with EOS mount) and the second on my 5D MK III. I was curious how much field of view was potentially lost by the non-academy sized super35 1.78:1 chip in the Red, and measured the difference by directly comparing the same shot with the same lens both with and without my Panasonic LA-7200 anamorphic attachment. I was surprised to find that the 1.33x squeeze offered by the attachment still managed to widen the spherical image matted to 2.35:1 roughly by 1/3rd, indeed confirming added field of view with the attachment (on both the 5D and the Red) despite the lack of a full academy sized square video area on either.
