Description

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe released renderings of a proposed casino resort to be built in Taunton. The tribe, however, is facing some legal challenges, as the land is currently in trust by the federal government. For the Wampanoag's to host tribal gambling, they must own eligible land. Cedric Cromwell, the Mashpee Wampanoag chairman, says they are making great progress in terms of the land, although some skeptics believe they are years away from land ownership.
