Description

The wonderfull Lockheed Aircraft Supersonic JetFighter (1320 MPH max. speed)with one General Electric JT9-GE-11A Turbojet with afterburner system.The F-104G version sold well amongst NATO air forces where these high-speed fighter-bomber variants continued in service with most operators until the late 1980s; the Italian Air Force examples being the last to be retired in 2004. Many air forces using F-104s eventually replaced them with the F-16 or Panavia Tornado.taly lost 137 (38%) of its F-104s in 928,000 flying hours (14.7 aircraft every 100,000 hrs). The F-104 was officially retired from AMI service during a large ceremony at Pratica di Mare in 2004. En Canadá se le denominó CF-104, en España C-8. Además lo utilizaron Alemania Federal, Bélgica, Holanda, Italia, Dinamarca, Noruega, Grecia, Turquía, Taiwán y Japón.
