Description

At an emergency EU summit in Brussels in March, Portugal announced it was willing to increase its resettlement quota of Syrian refugees from 4,500 to as many as 10,000. Samir and his family were in the first group. They arrived in Portugal in November, 2015 and are living in the small town of Penela in central Portugal and are being looked after by local non-profit organisation ADFP, which is taking care of all aspects of their integration.
