The Ethiopian government has u-turned over plans to make homosexuality a non-pardonable offence. The country already punishes same sex acts with jail time and a spokesman said this was adequate. The Northern Ireland parliament has said it will discuss marriage equality later this month after pressure from politicians. It is now the only region of the UK that has not approved same sex marriage. The Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, has given her support to church gay weddings, despite the Church of Norway voting against it. She advised people stay and vote for change rather than leave the church. US Congress and advocacy group All Out have petitioned the International Olympic Committee to include sexuality & gender identity in its non-discrimination policy. Currently, Principle 6 does not explicitly list LGBT people. And finally, animal rights group, PETA have entered the fray over contentious language with their UK neutering ad.
