Description

Edek guesting on electric fiddle (solos at 1:13 and 4:35), Doug Yeomans on guitar and vocal, (add others) at the Sportsmen's Tavern in Buffalo, NY where the Twang Gang plays every Tuesday evening, 6-9. An old Elvis Presley song that sounds a lot like "Train, Bring My Baby Back" by bluesman J.D. Short. But wait. . . according to Wikipedia: this "is a song recorded by American blues musician Junior Parker in 1953. Considered a blues standard, Parker . . . recorded the song for producer/Sun Records owner Sam Phillips and it was released on the Sun label. The song was written by Junior Parker (aka Herman Parker), with a credit later given to Phillips. Then again, the Carter Family even earlier on released a similar train song with references to 15 coaches. Strangely(?) enough, this song was also performed by the Doors at quite a few of their live shows with lyrics attributed to the Doors. (August 6, 2013)
