Description

During Art Basel week 2016 in Hong Kong, London-via-Hong Kong & Shanghai DJ collective YETI OUT teamed up with Korean underground haunt Cakeshop Seoul. Both mainstays have been at the forefront of Asia’s club circuit, hosting cutting edge parties with the likes of Jackmaster, Bromance, DJ EZ, Floating Points, Rashad, Bicep, Future Brown, Red Bull Music Academy, and SOULECTION Records, as well as essential local parties from Deadend and Strictly Vinyl to Subbeat, VOGUE, and Discotropic. The squad brought Itaewon’s neon-lit, cement basement vibe to Central Hong Kong for one night only, with a mix bag of head-nod funk, ’90s hip-hop, and house, to darker strains of grime, bass, techno and Jersey rap as the night seeped into the early hours. Under the lurid frosted pink neon sign, Cakeshop regulars KINGMCK, SOULSCAPE, and MAKE-1 hit the decks, with YETI’s own Arthur & Tom Yeti. Check out what went down here.
