Description
Is there, as Allan Doig suggests, "a God-shaped hole in the middle of modern art"? Should contemporary church commissions meet criteria of accessibility, aesthetic quality and clear Christian symbolism? Should non-believers be commissioned to produce Christian art? Dr Jonathan Koestlé-Cate offers some answers to these questions. This talk was a part of the Gresham College conference, 'Thinking Theologically about Modern Art'. The full conference can be accessed on the Gresham College website: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/seminar-thinking-theologically-about-modern-art Gresham College has been giving free public lectures since 1597. This tradition continues today with all of our five or so public lectures a week being made available for free download from our website. http://www.gresham.ac.uk
